In 2005, the Fleece was nominated for Jazz Venue of the Year by
the All Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group. The awards were presented at a
ceremony on March 15th at the House of Commons.
Liz and Nick went to the ceremony, and had a grand time. The winners were the Wakefield Jazz Club, due to the amazing work over 30 years of Faith and Alec Sykes. The Wakefield club website is available here.
Wonderful things were said about our "equally fine club" by musicians, critics and others. Maybe next year.
Our full programme is accessible here, and tickets are available by calling 01787 211865.

for an explanation of our seating and ticketing policy.
Your ticket covers admission only and does not guarantee a seat except in the case of disabled patrons who must inform us when booking.
It is always advisable to buy tickets in advance to guarantee admission.
Good food is available at the pub - fresh cooked food with a varying menu by our licensee, Jackie Heare. Please call 01787 210247 to book for dinner (but not for tickets!). To try to ensure that everybody gets fed and to the gig, Jackie will begin taking orders for food at 6:00. If the order isn't in by 7:00, it is difficult for her to get you food and time to eat before 8:30.
Most of the pictures here and in the brochure are by our very own Nick Rabett.
We are delighted that the Jazz Couriers Volume 2, recorded at the Fleece last July, is available for sale from our megastore, or from Trio Records.
For the anoraks among you, a must is this musicians view of their own alternative professions! Thank you, and welcome back, David Newton.
When you are desperate to find Billy Holiday's or any other musician's birthday, just click on the "All About Jazz" birthday site.
The Ipswich Jazz Club has its very own web site at www.ipswichjazzclub.co.uk.
Roger and Larraine Odell present great jazz in Clare..
The Colchester Institute hosts some very fine gigs in many genres. Their 2005/06 program is available here.
For you travellers, a very fine site advertising world wide jazz is www.jazz-clubs-worldwide.com. Do check out their pixel site.
